                                          The Elimination Diet
Get proactive about what you eat and drink...
and leave your pain behind.

There is a 90% probability that your migraines, hot flashes, arthritis, skin disorders, allergies, brain fog, depression and many other conditions would resolve if you change your diet.  Dr. Greg Nigh, Naturopathic physician, I,  and a growing multitude of alternative medicine practitioners are repeating these results.  Dr. Nigh says over 90% of his cases, no matter how severe their condition, are significantly improved after eliminating 12 foods.

What is an Elimination Diet?

From Wikipedia, an elimination diet is defined as “a method of identifying foods that an individual cannot consume without adverse effects.[1] Adverse effects may be due to food allergy, food intolerance, other physiological mechanisms[citation needed], or a combination of these.  When the mechanism is unknown, but a food is suspected, the mechanism may be described as a food sensitivity or a food hypersensitivity. Elimination diets typically involve entirely removing a suspected food from the diet for a period of time from two weeks to two months, and seeing whether symptoms resolve during that time.”

Dr. Nigh says that gluten comes in first place as the most common culprit.  Here are the foods to eliminate for a minimum of three weeks:  coffee, alcohol, wheat, which is gluten rich, from whole grains to refined flour, corn, from whole grain corn to corn meal products, sugar, fruit, rice, eggs, dairy, night shade vegetables including tomatoes, potatoes, red pepper and tobacco, soy, peanuts and red meat.  For more information go to drnigh@naturecuresclinic.com.

After three weeks you can begin to reintroduce foods you are sure aren't causing symptoms.  If you are not sure, try it for a few days and see if your symptom comes back.  You may already know that certain foods do not agree with you.  If you are addicted to a food you will probably crave it.  This doesn’t mean that you need it.

Are you acidic?

Almost all diets contain too many acid producing foods.  Drinking alkaline water is a very easy and powerful cure.  To see if your symptoms stem from an acidic diet see my website, WaterHealingPro.com.

Healthy Alternatives

Most of us, whether we know it or not, are addicted to sugar.  It is hard to avoid because they put it in everything.  So, to stay clear of sugar for three weeks you have to get creative and plan ahead.  You can start by creating your own simple meals from scratch, instead of fast food or buying pre-made meals in whatever form.  I discovered that I saved time, energy and money by creating my own simple meals at home.  I do mean simple.  It’s amazing how satisfying organic carrots and some hummus can be once you’ve been away from refined sugar for a few days.

You can eat fish, chicken, almonds and other nuts besides peanuts, salad from lettuce greens, spinach,  kale, carrots, beets, sprouts and all other vegetables, quinoa, amaranth, flax seeds and sunflower seeds.
