My Mission: Modeling the Emerging Self
Emerge instead of merge! Women merge energetically and emotionally with others in order to feel connected, so that we will not feel alone. We deplete our own energy as a way of giving and of service. Is it truly giving if we do not stand in who we truly are and give from our own authentic expression? We are all a work in progress. I am exploring with others how to individuate and how to be fully self actualized. No one who has gone before us has shown us how to fully show up. We must learn by trial and error. We must have compassion for ourselves and others for the many ways we fumble through. We must find the ways that are truly helpful and let go of helping that does not serve. It is my mission to help each of my clients find their emerging self.

I am not a stranger to excellence. I was a premier athlete as a young person.
In high school I was a North Dakota State Track Champion and lead my team to the state championship 3 years in a row. I then became a Jr. Olympics National Championship medalist. In college I was a USA Track Team member and a National Championship Medalist in Track and Field.
There were two things that I took from athletic performance that have influenced my work as a healer. The first was trying to understand the mind-body mechanism of "peak experience" that resulted in record setting performances as an athlete. The second was knowing that these peak experiences were much more important to me and my peers than the resulting glory and prestige. There was something so mysterious and sustaining about these moments that I lived for them. I now know them to be states of pure awareness.

distillation of 20 years of training and experience.
By studying Chinese medicine and eastern mysticism I have found the mechanisms to cultivate and sustain states of pure awareness. I began my practice as a healer in Santa Barbara at the School of Intuitive Massage in 1986, where I later became a teacher. I graduated from Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine in 1987 after which I studied Plant Spirit Medicine with Elliot Cowan.
In 2004 I completed a four year training in enlightenment studies, guided by Leslie Temple Thurston with the Corelight Teacher Training program.
I am the mother of a seven year old daughter. We live in Northern California where we surf, boogie board, bike, hike in the redwoods, create altars and generally commune with nature and nature spirits.
